  Just did my surgery yesterday. From the moment I met this man he was amazing, great with my kids who went to appointments with me, incredibly thorough, explained everything in detail and in terms I completely understood, was extremely quick to get my surgery scheduled, just an all around ridiculously wonderful experience. After years of other doctors not listening to me, Dr. Lawler swiftly came to my rescue. I was comfortable, felt understood, and was completely taken care of. I wouldn't trust anyone else. I HIGHLY recommend this Dr/surgeon to everyone and have already told many people about him. Put it this way- if I moved to another country I would travel back here to see him if I needed another surgery that he could do. He is just that great. The office is beautiful, the staff is caring and pleasant... You will NOT find better than this. You just won't. He is the best.

  As a person who has had a lot of injuries/surgeries I can say that Dr. Lawler is unequivocally the best I have ever dealt with. That guy is the real deal. Like me, I would imagine most people that are in a position to require surgery are in pain, uncertain about the future and apprehensive about having surgery. Beyond the fact that we have such a highly trained and skilled surgeon right here in Marin - he is approachable and in the first two minutes it is clear he genuinely cares. You know a surgeon is great when they care as much about you after the procedure as the do before surgery. My wife was hit by an out of control skier the first run of the season last year. The accident ruptured her ACL, torn both meniscuses and fractured her tibia. The experience was terrible. We first met with Nichole, who is a Physicians Assistant at Marin Orthopedics and works in a team with Dr. Lawler. She was knowledgeable, kind and reassuring. The next step was to meet with Dr. Lawler. So a week later we were seen right on schedule which was a pleasant surprise. At first I wasn't sure if a surgeon could be that nice and genuinely concerned with my wife's situation. He presented all of the options in a way that was very comforting considering the situation. He spent a lot of time to explain everything in greater detail. He also acted like a real person - no airs about him. Just a truly kind, knowledgeable and considerate person. We discussed all of the options and my wife had the surgery. The recovery wasn't easy. This what a total knee repair with a tendon graph. Lots of physical therapy was required. During the follow up Dr. Lawler was the exact same person the entire time on each and every visit. My wife leads a very active life and is back running, hiking and loving life. With the ski season coming up she is beyond pleased with the outcome. I have had numerous knee surgeries and I'm in need of a knee replacement. Again, the experience has held true. I will be having a "Uni" which is essentially having half of my knee replaced. Again - Dr. Lawler was concerned with what was best for me. He took a lot of time and as I plan for this major surgery I know I'm in the care of the person I trust and believe will provide me with the best possible outcome. 5 stars really don't say enough. Thank you to the entire team at Marin a Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. You took an unpleasant situation and made the absolute most of it. I highly recommend your team to everyone I know. Very grateful.
